Young Carers Illustrations Project

The Young Carers Illustrations Project will take centre stage at an upcoming Young Carers Alliance webinar focused on the often-overlooked needs of younger young carers. Taking place on Wednesday 7 May from 11am to 2pm, the free online event aims to spotlight the urgent need for more inclusive support for young carers of all ages.
While there are no lower age limits for young carers’ rights in any of the four UK nations, many local services only begin offering support from age 8 upwards. This leaves a significant number of very young carers without the help they need.
The upcoming webinar will bring together professionals, advocates, and young people themselves to discuss practical ways to improve this situation. Contributions from the Young Carers Illustrations Project will provide a powerful visual and emotional insight into the lives and experiences of these youngest carers.
“This event is a vital opportunity to push the policy agenda forward and ensure no young carer is left unsupported, no matter their age,” a spokesperson for the project said. “We hope many will join the conversation and help champion the rights of our youngest carers.”
Attendance is free and open to all—professionals, parents, carers, and young people alike are encouraged to take part.
